Why Eco

Small island developing countries like Samoa are truly remarkable, standing resilient in the face of global challenges! As they lead the charge against climate change, they are also committed to sustainable development. Despite their unique hurdles—such as limited size, isolation, and vulnerability to economic shocks—these nations are determined to thrive and protect their future.

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that plant.” - Robert Louis Stevenson

Samoa Climate Smart Rainforest Restoration
Project

This exciting project, led by the Samoa Conservation Society, harnesses carbon offsets from international travel to champion forest restoration in the beautiful Samoa! We're supporting the incredible site: the O le Pupu Pue National Park, the first National Park in the South Pacific. This project is all about revitalizing the ecosystem by tackling invasive species and planting native trees, with dedicated staff and thriving nurseries leading the way! Native forests not only boost biodiversity but also stand strong against extreme weather, which is crucial as Samoa faces increasing threats. By supporting these initiatives, we’ll sequester CO2, enhance biodiversity, and help Samoa gain valuable insights into forest restoration.

Coral Planting

Coral reefs are often celebrated for their incredible biodiversity and vital role in our planet's health, like rainforests! Did you know that coral is actually an animal related to jellyfish and anemones? These stunning reefs are built by hard corals that secrete calcium carbonate, while the soft corals create beautiful shapes resembling trees, bushes, fans, whips, and grasses. Although these amazing ecosystems face challenges from pollution, unsustainable fishing, and climate change, there’s a wave of hope! Exciting coral propagation efforts are happening all over the globe, including a fantastic initiative at the Samoa Eco Yoga Retreat!

Water Filtration

To address the global issue of plastic bottles in developing countries, we motivated Aga Reef Resort to adopt a Water Filtration system. By hosting the Yoga Retreat at Aga, we assisted the resort in installing the system, allowing yogis and future guests to use their own bottles.
